【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesastandardmethodforevaluatingtheperformanceofsonicanemometer/thermometersthatuseinversetimesolutionstomeasurewindvelocitycomponentsandthespeedofsound.Itprovidesanunambiguousdeterminationofinstrumentperformancecriteria.Thetestmethodisapplicabletomanufacturersforthepurposeofdescribingtheperformanceoftheirproducts,toinstrumentationtestfacilitiesforthepurposeofverifyinginstrumentperformance,andtousersforspecifyingperformancerequirements.Theacousticpathlengthprocedureisalsoapplicableforcalibrationpurposespriortodatacollection.Proceduresforoperatingasonicanemometer/thermometeraredescribedinPracticeD5527.Thesonicanemometer/thermometerarrayisassumedtohaveasufficientlyhighstructuralrigidityandasufficientlylowcoefficientofthermalexpansiontomaintainaninternalalignmenttowithinthemanufacturer''sspecificationsoveritsdesignedoperatingrange.Consultwiththemanufacturerforaninternalalignmentverificationprocedureandverifythealignmentbeforeproceedingwiththistestmethod.Thistestmethodisdesignedtocharacterizetheperformanceofanarraymodelorprobedesign.Transducershadowdataobtainedfromasinglearrayisapplicableforallinstrumentshavingthesamearraymodelorprobedesign.Somenon-orthogonalarraysmaynotrequirespecificationoftransducershadowcorrectionsorthevelocitycalibrationrange.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedynamicperformanceofasonicanemometer/thermometerwhichemploystheinversetimemeasurementtechniqueforvelocityorspeedofsound,orboth.Performancecriteriainclude:(a)acceptanceangle,(b)acousticpathlength,(c)systemdelay,(d)systemdelaymismatch,(e)thermalstabilityrange,(f)shadowcorrection,(g)velocitycalibrationrange,and(h)velocityresolution.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
