【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareintendedtoprovideproceduresthatmaybeusedtoevaluatedenaturedandundenaturedalcoholswith1to3carbonatomsforcharacteristicandresidualodorsthatwillaffecttheirenduse.Theproductstestedarecomparedtoreferencestandardsusingoneorallofthetestmethodsdescribed.Interpretationofresultsandacceptabilityoftheproductforaspecificendusearetheresponsibilityofthepanelsupervisorandarebasedontheresultsobtainedintesting.Thesetestsmaybeusedtoqualifythesuitabilityoftheseproductsforuseinacustomer-producerrelationship.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforobservingcharacteristicandresidualodorsandestimatingodorintensityofmethanol,ethanol,n-propanol,andisopropanolforthepurposeofdeterminingtheirodoracceptability.Severaltestmethodsareincludedandanyorallmaybeused.Thesetestmethodsmaybeusedforbothdenaturedandundenaturedalcohols.1.2Thesetestmethodsarenotintendedtodeterminesubtleodordifferencesbetweenalcohols,whichdonotaffecttheirenduse.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
